Artist’s Statement

I am a self-taught artist, experimenting and using different techniques but mostly painting abstracts. Loving expressionism, modernism.

I'm trying to find my own unique way of "expressing" my emotions in the art; this may be why most of the subjects are often distorted or exaggerated. While painting, I went through different journeys. Sometimes it was a wonderful feeling of spiritual awareness, connecting with divine power and myself. Sometimes it was a depressing experience caused by some events in my life.

The way Alicja layers the paint gives this piece so much depth—it shifts as you move past it in the room. It arrived carefully rolled in a tube, and the colors are even more vibrant in person. This is exactly the kind of calming abstract I wanted for my living space.

The pastel greens and dusty pinks blend so softly that I catch myself staring at a different corner every time. It's the kind of abstract piece that makes my living room feel calmer the moment it's up on the wall.

The soft pastel tones in this piece shift beautifully depending on the light, almost like the forest is breathing. I've had it up for a week and keep noticing new details in the paint texture.
